Penguin in “Pulp Friction”: Who Cares About the Writers?

The Social Network: In a highly controversial decision, one of the country's largest publishers, Penguin Books India, has decided to withdraw a book by renowned Sanskritist, academic and writer Wendy Doniger titled 'The Hindus – An Alternative History'. This follows several petitions filed in court against the book, claiming that it contained factual errors and that several parts were insulting to Hindus and Indians.
