Lured by exotic gemstones and precious oils, the crew of the space trader Solar Queen landed on the newly discovered planet Sargol, only to find their most ruthless competitor before them. But after satisfactory trade and an uneventful takeoff, the Solar Queen discovered a scourge on board, the treacherous work of someone who had been on Sargol. Federation rules now prohibit them from landing on any inhabited planet – and their reserves are running dangerously low.
