Plans in Action: How state priorities translate to workforce and adult education
During this August 28, 2018 webinar, we discussed three state plans that Illinois recently developed: the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Unified State Plan State of Illinois (WIOA) for the 2016-2020 program years, as well as the 2018 amendment to this plan. ; the Illinois Community College Board’s Workforce Education Strategic Plan (WESP); and Expanding Career Pathway Opportunities in Adult Education: Strategic Directions for Illinois, Illinois' five-year strategic plan for adult education for 2018-2023. To give practitioners and providers an idea of the plans, we took a closer look at three of these trends: digital literacy with AJ Jaramillo of the Greater West Town Training Partnership; partnerships with Abram Garcia of Central States SER; and work-based learning with Mollie Dowling of OAI, Inc.
