Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Arthur 'Bomber' Harris 1st Baronet, GCB OBE AFC, speaks candidly about his wartime role in this month's historic RAF CAPS leadership interview, filmed in 1977.

Sir Arthur Harris has been the subject of much debate since the end of the Second World War, dividing opinion like few others in British military history. He is seen in some circles as a hero in the fight against an evil enemy, and yet he is seen as a criminal by others.

In this rare interview, conducted by Group Captain (later Air Vice-Marshal) Tony Mason CB CBE DL at the RAF Staff College, Bracknell, Sir Arthur Harris gives his views, often frank, on the pursuit of the air war against Germany and his experiences with the personalities of that time.

This historically significant interview offers a unique insight into one of the most controversial periods in British military history and will appeal to historians and laymen alike.

Viewers may find some comments controversial in the video; however, out of respect for the historical record presented by the interview, the comments have not been edited and viewers are asked to judge the interview in the context of the period.
