Roc – Roc Strikes Out – Season 1 Episode 19 – 02/16/92

On strike, Roc joins Eleanor who works at the hospital, but working for her makes him collapse. Roc hopes his union's decision to strike against the city will only last a few days. When the strike enters the third week and Roc has spent his small allowance from the union's emergency fund, he takes a job as a nurse at the hospital, working under the supervision of his wife, Eleanor.

Charles Dutton plays a married garbage collector who proves through his actions and selfless ways that although he collects trash for a job, his life and relationships add up to more than just trash. Roc Emerson, a town garbage collector, balances the pressures of work with the daily crises of family life in an effort to do what he thinks is best for his wife and children. Most episodes were fairly typical sitcom storylines, but occasionally more serious topics, like racism, were discussed.
