Rory Stewart begins by saying that it is very honorable to think that whenever we fight it will be for Queen and Country, but using “Queen and Country” to justify the cause is absurd.
He states that fear and guilt are the emotions that motivate war. Statements such as "no soldier can die in veins" or "failure is not an option/" trap politicians into the inability to admit failure, because to do so would be to admit that a soldier died in the veins.
