A remake of a 1954 Billy Wilder romance, this updated version of the play Sabrina Fair was directed by Sydney Pollack. Julia Ormond plays Sabrina Fairchild, the daughter of a kind chauffeur (John Wood) from the Long Island estate of the high-society Larrabee family. Sabrina grew up enchanted from afar by the Larrabee's glittering world of privilege and wealth, but she is particularly in love with Larrabee's younger brother, David (Greg Kinnear), a charming womanizer. After the once simple Sabrina returns from a stay in Paris transformed into a remarkably composed and attractive young woman, she finally attracts David's attention. In a calculated effort to manipulate David away from her and into a more financially advantageous marriage, older brother Linus (Harrison Ford) pretends to court Sabrina himself, but finds himself unwittingly falling in love.
