Samantha Irby with Lindy West: Meaty Essays Seattle Town Hall
Writer Samantha Irby is known for her cheeky wit and boldly honest feminist writing from her blog Bitches Must Eat, as well as her book We Are Never Meeting In Real Life and her essays contributing to Nasty Women, a collection of feminist essays about life in Trump's America — and a recently held discussion on the Town Hall stage earlier this season (during which author Samhita Mukhopadhyay hailed Irby as "the most funny world at the moment).

Irby takes the stage to present a reprint of his much-loved collection of intelligent, edgy and unapologetically raunchy personal essays – Meaty. She joins the conversation with writer Lindy West, author of Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman and opinion editor for The New York Times. Irby and West discuss this collection of riotous essays written with the same scathing wit and poignant frankness that thousands of loyal readers have come to expect from Irby's notoriously hilarious blog. Join Irby and West and laugh through these stories of failed relationships, taco feasts, battles with Crohn's disease and much more.

Samantha Irby is a writer and comedy juggernaut from Chicago who writes a blog called Bitches Gotta Eat, in addition to co-hosting The Sunday Night Sex Show, a sex-positive live show. She has written two books Meaty and We Are Never Meeting in Real Life.

Lindy West is a Seattle-based writer, editor, and performer whose work focuses on pop culture, social justice, humor, and body image. She is the founder and editor of I Believe You It's Not Your Fault, an advice blog aimed at teens.

Presented by Town Hall Seattle as part of the Arts & Culture series.
