Saving a social situation
A tangent to being likeable is not being stereotyped or judged negatively. Sometimes avoiding a bad impression is the best thing we can do in certain situations or with certain people. It's not a big deal, and it just forces us to shift gears and focus on this different goal.

Research has shown that judgment (which is mostly negative) results from incomplete information, leading people to supplement their judgment through stereotypes. If you provide more information about yourself and share, share, share, you can avoid judgment. Therefore, the more information you present about yourself, no matter how irrelevant it may be, it makes you a three-dimensional human. Additionally, if you share and disclose personal and emotional information and the other person reciprocates, you can create a feeling of closeness and mutual intimacy.
