Silversmith Brenton West undertakes the repair of a salt and pepper music box of great sentimental value for owner Janice. The ornate pair was purchased in Hong Kong by Janice's mother, who accompanied her father on his military posting in the 1950s. Given to her grandmother, Janice played with this decor throughout her childhood. She now wants her daughter to cherish it for future generations. Mechanical expert Steve Fletcher finds himself baffled by a talking doll that has lost its voice. Repairing the miniature record player inside her proves an unusually tricky challenge for Steve. Meanwhile, Julie Tatchell and Amanda Middleditch, Teddy Bear Ladies, take on the relatively fun part of the solution, creating his original 1960s clothing. And master hatter Jayesh Vaghela is brought to the barn to tackle a hat precious worn by a prisoner of war while working on the Death Railway during World War II.
