Shamima Begum says she would 'rather die' than return to ISIS as she seeks forgiveness
Richard and Susanna speak exclusively to Shamima Begum. In 2015, she left the UK at the age of 15 to join ISIS. She was found nine months pregnant in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019 and then-Home Secretary Sajid Javid revoked her British citizenship over security concerns.

Susanna and Richard question Shamima's intentions and why she left the UK to join ISIS. She tells them she apologizes to the British people, saying she "thought she was 'doing the right thing as a Muslim' by joining ISIS and that she 'didn't want to hurt anyone' . She asks the British public to “forgive” her and says she sympathizes with people because she has “lived in fear of ISIS and lost loved ones to ISIS”.
