Although best known for its role in the Civil War, Gettysburg's history extends into the 20th century. It was a tank training ground during the First World War. Many Adam County citizens served in World War II and the area where Confederates charged the Union line on the third day of battle was the site of an Axis prisoner of war camp . And now, the history of World War II comes to life in Gettysburg at the World War II: American Experience museum. We had the opportunity to go back and take stock of the museum's progress AND climb aboard a real WWII Sherman tank and drive it over the same fields the Confederates crossed during of their march to Gettysburg. Certainly an experience like no other. Make sure you watch this one until the end!
