Patric Gagné says he realized very young that she was not like other children. Shame, guilt, empathy – feelings endemic on the playground – eluded him. Her new book, Sociopath, tells the story of how she was diagnosed with sociopathy in college and how her own studies in clinical psychology shaped her understanding of the disorder. In today's episode, Gagné talks with NPR's Michel Martin about her experiences as a sociopath and how they actually led her to work as a therapist.
