Stoic quote for a strong mind – Meditations by Marcus Aurelius #shorts
“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be intrusive, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they cannot tell right from wrong. But I have seen the beauty of good and the ugliness of evil, and I have recognized that the evildoer has a nature related to mine – not of the same blood or birth, but of the same spirit and possessing a part of the divine. And so none of them can harm me. No one can implicate me in the ugliness. I also cannot feel angry with my loved one, nor hate them. We were born to work together, like feet, hands and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. Annoying each other is not natural. Feeling angry with someone, turning your back on them: these are obstacles.

I hope people watching this video take the time to read the full quote. This is one of my favorite quotes from Meditations, but you really have to read it in its entirety to understand what Marcus Aurelius wanted to express.

Please take the opportunity to connect and share this video with your friends and family if you find it useful.
