In his own words, here is Augusten Burroughs' essay Book Notes for his memoir, A Wolf at the Table:
Tegan's song was the first to arrive and it arrived via email. I hesitated before downloading and playing the song because I'm a huge fan of Tegan and Sara. I was kind of star struck, I have to say. Then I played it and it was like getting punched in the chest, but in the best way possible. The song was so personal, from Tegan to Augusten. It was so deeply empathetic and then so brilliant. I liked it. I cried and played it over and over again.
