The Awakening by Kate Chopin – Summary and Literature Review

Hello everyone! It's Patrick and today I'm giving you a summary and review of the story “The Awakening” by Kate Chopin. She was an American author who wrote the majority of her stories in the 1890s, and overall they were generally well received by critics. The outlier however was "The Awakening", which was criticized for its lack of morality and essentially broke his entire writing career. It wasn't until the 1950s that Chopin's work became fashionable again, but by then it was far too late.
So what was it about the story that made the critical reception so bad?
