The Battle of Franklin (007)

Hello and welcome to Reviving History. This week's episodes will focus on the Franklin Nashville campaign and the fall of John Bell Hood. The campaign has interested me for many years because Hood himself is a very interesting character. Before taking command of the Army of Tennessee, he commanded nothing more than a division, and suddenly he was given command of arguably the worst and most corrupt army of the American War. two sides. On top of that, he was facing arguably one of the best generals in American history, that of Sherman. What I want to talk about today is Hood's final attempt to win the war. His attempt to campaign north into Tennessee to rally support and manpower and answer the question of whether Hood is a good general or an example of the Peter Principle.
