Don Pedro, a wealthy Mexican, and Bob, the foreman of Bess's father's ranch, are both in love with Bess, but Bess only has feelings for Bob.
Don Pedro, however, does not give up so easily and kidnaps her.
Luckily, Bess has a deck of cards with her; she drops them off one by one along the route so Bob can find her.
The kidnappers are captured and Bess and Bob are reunited.
