The Girl and the Stars by Mark Lawrence was a solid book. the second half of The Girl and the Stars flew by due to its fast pace and many twists and turns.
the tl;dr of this video is a great plot, decent characters, decent magic system that's a bit confusing, decent antagonists, but also antagonists that are just chaotic evil and don't really have any good reasons for their actions.
Mark Lawrence is a solid author and I will be reading more of his books, including Red Sister, Prince of Fools, and all of the sequels to The Girl and the Stars. But it's not Brandon Sanderson
