The Greatest General of the Civil War

General George Henry Thomas, a Virginia-born Unionist, was the greatest general of the American Civil War, according to David Decker, a Civil War storyteller. General Thomas never lost a battle or his share of a battle, which is not the case for Lee, Longstreet or Stonewall Jackson. It was never invaded by the enemy, as Grant and Sherman were at Shiloh.
