For 33 weeks, I systematically delved into Jim Kouzes and Barry Moore's work, The Leadership Challenge: How to make Extraordinary Things Happen in Organizations. This was my interpretation of what I took away from this incredible book on leadership. As I explain, this work had a significant impact on my own leadership journey, so much so that I completed the Facilitator training and also became an LPI coach so that I could not only better understand the model but also be able to use the principles. in my professional coaching practice.
The LPI360 is the leadership assessment provided with the Leadership Challenge Model. Kouzes and Posner took the five leadership practices, Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Questioning the Process, Enabling Others to Act, and Encouraging the Heart, which they observed leaders engage in to achieve extraordinary things in organizations, and assigned six behaviors to each practice. These are behaviors that most of us adopt in leadership roles, but it's how often we adopt them that has the most impact.
