ABOUT THE BOOK
The story centers on a house built on top of a small hill, far away in the American countryside in the 1900s. Its builder decrees that it "can never be sold for gold or silver", but that she is strong enough to one day see her great-great-grandchildren's great-great-grandchildren living in her. The house watches the seasons pass, and wonders about the lights of the city, which come ever closer.
