Philosopher Peter Singer explores the impact of AI on animals, using historical parallels of how humans have already used technology to exploit nature. He discusses current applications of AI in factory farming and wildlife management, which already raise ethical concerns.

Singer believes that AI should not only serve human interests, and that we should think about its impact on all sentient beings as we continue to develop it.

It also addresses the philosophical question of AI surpassing human intelligence, potential consciousness and moral status, highlighting the need for government standards similar to animal welfare regulations.
