[HN NOTES – DEVELOPMENT]
HN learned of the sad news yesterday afternoon when a longtime friend of Trooper Steven Culver contacted him regarding his recent death following an unexpected medical event.
News of this sudden tragedy sent shockwaves across Cape Town. Private “Steve” Culver was only about fifty years old.
HN spoke with his fellow soldiers and police officers yesterday, offering his condolences and learning more about Trooper Culver's accomplishments and notable cases.
Trooper Culver was a highly trained asset of the State Police, having served as a member of the K9 Unit, among other assignments (including the Truck Team).
Wanting to get all the details surrounding this unexpected tragedy, HN immediately contacted several high-ranking members of the Massachusetts State Police to get some sort of official word. There were several instant responses, and HN finally learned that some type of press release was in the works…which could be distributed as early as later this morning. (But keep in mind that this is a very difficult time for the entire MSP department…)
The following is cell phone footage of yesterday afternoon's procession where a number of other soldiers escorted Private Steven Culver home to the Cape from Boston. The video was sent by a dear friend of Trooper Culver.
