You may think that racism in America is caused by a few bad apples. But this animation shows what a systemic problem this is.

The history of racism in America goes back hundreds of years. In the 17th and 19th centuries, white men needed land, so they took it from indigenous people and then enslaved black people to work the land. To justify the use of free labor, whites in power promoted the myth that blacks were inferior.

White Americans now hold 85% of the country's wealth. Black Americans hold a little more than 4% and Hispanics a little more than 3%. People of color are statistically more likely to be poor, incarcerated, and discriminated against in health care.
