Urban versus rural dental practice is a topic that comes up often, especially when considering your first job after dental school.

Practicing in small towns can be rewarding, but it comes with its share of challenges. And practicing in a large urban area can offer plenty of opportunities, but there's also a lot of competition. For most dentists, deciding where and how you want to practice depends on your own personality and your own goals and interests. Both styles of practice can be lucrative and rewarding.

I practice in a small town, near a few small towns. My practice isn't as rural as some, but it definitely has a "small town" feel.
