Roxanne Bloom quit her job as a lawyer, divorced her unfaithful husband, and moved to the picturesque town of Honey Springs, Kentucky, where she had spent many of her teenage summers visiting her aunt Maxi, eccentric and fun. Roxy follows her dream and opens The Bean Hive, Honey Springs' first coffee shop on the town's newly revitalized boardwalk. which opens just in time for the annual Honey Springs Honey Festival. Business was booming, she reconnected with special people from her past, including her first teenage love, and visited The Crooked Cat bookstore, which is still her favorite store in Honey Springs. One problem, Aunt Maxi and Alexis Roarke, owner of Crooked Cat, are not on speaking terms.
Alexis rents the bookstore building to Aunt Maxi and the rent increases. Roxy brings Alexis a new cup of coffee from The Bean Hive and a delicious pastry as a peace offering between the two women, but discovers that the owner of the beloved bookstore has been murdered and Aunt Maxi is the number one suspect.
Gossip in Honey Springs is as hot as the coffee at the Bean Hive and Roxy must find out who is behind the murder to not only save her store, her aunt, but her life.
